Vintage Banjara Fabric 006

38.00

Authentic, vintage fabric from the nomadic tribal group in India called the Banjaras. This wandering tribe originated in Rajasthan and then gradually spread into Kashmir, Bengal, Karnataka and Gujarat.

Known to be adorned in the most intricate hand embroidered textiles with mirrors, silver coins, stones, cowrie shells, beads and bells. A fabulous feast for the eyes!

These pieces are unique and are handmade vintage neck yokes, which would have originally been part of a dress. A beautiful piece of textiles that can be used to embellish the back of a jacket or a bag, but I think they are best framed as a piece of art.

Please note: This is a vintage piece of textiles and you will find some missing mirrors, loose threads and a few ‘imperfections’. I think this adds to the charm and helps tell it’s story
