Boujad rugs are named after the town of ‘Bujad’ in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. These rugs tend to feature pinks and oranges with beautiful geometric patterns and designs, and are said to be to most magical and mystical of Moroccan rugs that tell a tale from the lives of the women who weave them.
This rug is amazing! I haven't seen another quite like it, with all the different coloured people and I think there are ships woven into the rug too. So many lovely scenes happening, it's difficult to know where to start looking!
Such beautiful colours. And great vintage condition, was probably made in the 70s.
