A beautiful framed antique Ottoman embroidered textile, backed onto vintage hand loomed silk from Uzbekistan.

Antique Ottoman embroidery refers to the traditional textile art that was practiced during the ottoman Empire (13th Century - early 20th Century).

The Ottomans were renowned for their embroidery skills which were used to decorate clothing, textiles and other household items too. Skilled artisans would work with silk and metallic threads to create intricate designs. Common motifs included floral and geometric patterns, as well as animals and human figures too.
